Autoneum: Neuer Produktionsstandort in Mexiko Donnerstag, 20. August 2015 - 14:04
Autoneum hat den Grundstein für ein neues Werk im nordamerikanischen Wachstumsmarkt Mexiko gelegt. Ausschlaggebend für den Ausbau der Produktionskapazitäten in Mexiko ist die anhaltend hohe Nachfrage seitens internationaler Automobilhersteller nach den leichtgewichtigen und multifunktionalen Komponenten des Markt- und Innovationsführers.
Autoneum erweitert seine lokale Präsenz in Mexiko mit einer dritten Produktionsstätte in dem nordamerikanischen Wachstumsmarkt. Ab Anfang 2017 werden in dem rund 400 Kilometer nordwestlich von Mexiko-Stadt gelegenen Werk in San Luis Potosí (Bundesstaat San Luis Potosí) Teppichsysteme sowie Stirnwand- und Bodenisolationen produziert. Autoneum beliefert aus der 19’000 Quadratmeter grossen Anlage US-amerikanische und deutsche Automobilhersteller, die vor Ort für den nordamerikanischen Markt produzieren.
Autoneum ist in Mexiko bereits mit einem Produktionsstandort in Hermosillo (Bundesstaat Sonora) und über das Tochterunternehmen UGN mit einem Werk in Silao (Bundesstaat Guanajuato) vertreten. Neben den Standortvorteilen, die Mexiko aufgrund seiner Mitgliedschaft in der nordamerikanischen Freihandelszone (NAFTA) bietet, ist der starke Bedarf der Fahrzeughersteller an Lärmschutzteilen für den Fahrzeuginnenboden ausschlaggebend für den Ausbau der Produktionskapazitäten. Gleichzeitig ist Mexiko einer der dynamischsten Automobilmärkte weltweit: 2014 wurden 3.2 Millionen leichte Motorfahrzeuge produziert, für 2020 wird eine Zunahme auf 4.8 Millionen Fahrzeuge erwartet.

New production facility in Mexico
August 20, 2015Autoneum has laid the foundation stone for a new plant in the North American growth market of Mexico. The decisive factor behind the expansion of its production capacities in Mexico is the prevailing high demand from international automobile manufacturers for the lightweight and multifunctional components of the market and innovation leader.
Autoneum is expanding its local presence in Mexico with a third manufacturing location in the North American growth market. From the start of 2017, carpet systems, inner dashes and floor insulators will be produced at the plant in San Luis Potosí (San Luis Potosí federal state) around 400 kilometers northwest of Mexico City. From the plant measuring 19’000 square meters, Autoneum will supply US and German OEMs producing locally for the North American market.
Autoneum is already represented in Mexico with a manufacturing location in Hermosillo (Sonora federal state) and via its subsidiary UGN with a plant in Silao (Guanajuato federal state). As well as the locational benefits that Mexico offers due to its NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) membership, the strong need among vehicle manufacturers for noise protection components for the vehicle interior floor is a decisive factor for the expansion of production capacities. At the same time, Mexico is one of the world’s most dynamic automobile markets: In 2014, 3.2 million light vehicles were produced, with an increase to 4.8 million vehicles expected for 2020.
