FOCA decrees charges at Zurich Airport
The Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) approves the charges Flughafen Zürich AG has applied for in September 2015. They will be lower for the users of Zurich airport in the future.
With the decree issued on May 03, 2016 FOCA approves the charges Flughafen Zürich AG has applied for. An agreement with the airlines went ahead of this application. Provided that the decree gets legally binding, the charges will be implemented as of September 01, 2016 with validity of four years.
With the implementation of the approved operational charges, passengers and airlines benefit from lower costs (see News Flash No. 18/2015). Thanks to the positive passenger development as well as the cost and investment discipline of Flughafen Zürich AG, cost coverage in the regulated segment can be maintained despite the charges reduction. Thus both, the competitiveness and the viability of Zurich Airport can be further increased.
Landing and parking charges also affected
The landing and parking charges are also being adjusted pursuant the application of September 2015. These adjustments include in particular simplifications in the calculation of the charges, which is based on weight classes henceforward.
