GF Machining Solutions, eine Division von GF, übernimmt 100% der Aktien von Microlution Inc., Chicago (Illinois, US), einem Spezialisten für Mikrobearbeitung mit Fräsen und Lasertechnologien.
Die Firma Microlution wurde 2005 durch drei Ingenieure aus der Region Chicago gegründet. Sie ist spezialisiert auf Fünfachsen-Fräsen und auf Femtosekunden-Laser für Lochbohrungen und Mikro-Zerspanung (Bearbeitung von Kleinstteilen) in verschiedensten Industrien, wie der Luftfahrt, Medizinaltechnik und dem Automobil-Sektor. Die Firma erzielte 2015 mit rund 30 Mitarbeitenden einen Umsatz von USD 10 Mio. Die Akquisition steht im Einklang mit der Strategie von GF Machining Solutions, ihr Technologie-Portfolio zu erweitern und so die Bedürfnisse der Kunden in ihren Schlüsselsektoren wie Luftfahrt und Medizinaltechnik abzudecken. Über die finanziellen Details der Transaktion ist Stillschweigen vereinbart worden.

GF to acquire innovative US micro-machining specialist

GF Machining Solutions, a division of GF, has agreed to purchase 100 percent of the shares of Microlution Inc., Chicago (Illinois, US), a specialist of micro-machining based on milling and laser technologies.
The company Microlution was founded in 2005 by three engineers from the Chicago region. It specializes in 5-axis milling and femtosecond laser for hole drilling and micro-cutting in a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical and automotive. The company generated in 2015 a turnover of USD 10 million with a workforce of 30 employees. The acquisition is in line with the strategy of GF Machining Solutions to enlarge its technology portfolio to cover the needs of its key target sectors such as the aerospace and medical fields. Both parties have agreed to keep the sales conditions confidential.
