Traffic figures
2,203,305 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport in April (+0.8% vs. previous year). Local passengers increased by 0.1% and transfer passengers increased by 3.0%. The transfer rate which was at 25.2% last April is at 25.7% in the month under review.

Air traffic movements
In April, air traffic movements increased to 21,643 (+0.8% vs. previous year).

Traffic ratios
The average seat load factor is at 75.3% (-2.1 percentage points vs. previous year) and the average passenger per movement figure increased to 115.4 (115.2 previous year).

Commercial activities 
Total turnover in April was CHF 42.8m (-3.9% vs. previous year). The decrease divides into -0.2% for airside and -8.2% for landside.
Year-to-date, total turnover saw an increase of 1.6% compared to last year (airside +2.1%, landside +0.9%). The spend per departing passenger is currently at CHF 41.3 (-1.6% vs. previous year).

Please note:
There is a base effect as Easter holiday was earlier this year (March 2016 vs. April 2015).
