Traffic figures
2,408,714 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport in May (+4.8% vs. previous year). Local passengers increased by 8.9% and transfer passengers decreased by 6.0%. The transfer rate which was at 26.9% last May is at 24.1% in the month under review.

Air traffic movements
In May, air traffic movements increased to 23,671 (+1.3% vs. previous year).

Traffic ratios
The average seat load factor is at 75.0% (-1.2 percentage points vs. previous year) and the average passenger per movement figure increased to 116.9 (113.2 previous year).

Commercial activities 
Total turnover in May was CHF 47.4m (-1.4% vs. previous year). The decrease divides into -0.6% for airside and -2.4% for landside.
Year-to-date, total turnover saw an increase of +0.9% compared to last year (airside +1.4%, landside +0.2%). The spend per departing passenger is currently at CHF 40.9 (-2.6% vs. previous year).
