Vifor Pharma, ein Unternehmen der Galenica Gruppe, und ChemoCentryx, Inc. (Nasdaq: CCXI), gaben heute bekannt, dass sie ihre bestehende Allianz für die Behandlung von Nierenleiden auf die Entwicklung und Vermarktung von CCX140 für Nierenerkrankungen ausweiten. CCX140 ist ein oral verabreichter Inhibitor des Chemokinrezeptors (CCR2), der bereits die klinischen Phase-II-Studien bei Patienten mit diabetischer Nierenerkrankung erfolgreich durchlaufen hat.
Die Vereinbarung richtet sich zunächst auf die gemeinsame Entwicklung von CCX140 für seltene Nierenerkrankungen, wobei Vifor Pharma sich die Option zur alleinigen Entwicklung und Vermarktung von CCX140 zur Behandlung häufigerer Formen der chronischen Niereninsuffizienz (CKD) gesichert hat. Gemäss der Vereinbarung behält ChemoCentryx die Vermarktungsrechte für seltene Nierenerkrankungen in den USA und China, während Vifor Pharma die Vermarktungsrechte für die übrigen Länder weltweit besitzt.

Vifor Pharma, une entreprise du Groupe Galenica, et ChemoCentryx, Inc., (Nasdaq: CCXI), ont annoncé aujourd’hui l’extension de leur alliance dans le domaine de la santé rénale pour y inclure le développement et la commercialisation de CCX140, un inhibiteur oral du récepteur de chimiokines CCR2, pour le traitement de maladies rénales. CCX140 a déjà fait l’objet d’un essai clinique de phase II concluant chez des patients atteints de néphropathie diabétique.
L’accord conclu portera initialement sur le développement conjoint de CCX140 pour les maladies rénales rares, Vifor Pharma ayant la possibilité de développer et commercialiser seule CCX140 pour les formes plus courantes d’insuffisance rénale chronique (IRC). En vertu des termes de l’accord, ChemoCentryx conserve les droits de marketing pour les maladies rénales rares aux Etats-Unis et en Chine, tandis que Vifor Pharma détient les droits de commercialisation dans le reste du monde.

Vifor Pharma and ChemoCentryx announce expansion of Kidney Health Alliance to include CCX140 to treat renal diseases

Vifor Pharma, a company of the Galenica Group, and ChemoCentryx, Inc. (Nasdaq: CCXI), a biopharmaceutical company developing orally-administered therapeutics to treat autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders and cancer, announced today the expansion of their existing kidney health alliance to include the development and commercialisation of CCX140, an orally-administered inhibitor of the chemokine receptor known as CCR2, for renal diseases. CCX140 has previously completed a successful Phase II clinical trial in patients with diabetic kidney disease.
The alliance will initially focus on the joint development of CCX140 in rare kidney diseases, with Vifor Pharma retaining an option to solely develop and commercialise CCX140 in more prevalent forms of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Under the agreement, ChemoCentryx retains marketing rights for rare renal disease in the US and China, while Vifor Pharma has commercialisation rights in the rest of the world.
