BKW at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz Donnerstag, 02. Februar 2017 - 10:00

The event’s main sponsor is in place as energy service provide

BKW will be part of the World Ski Championships in St. Moritz, not only on the pistes, but all around the World Championship Village too. As an international energy and infrastructure service provider, the sponsor of both the World Championships and Swiss-Ski brings its extensive expertise in these key areas to this great winter sporting event.

It's only fitting that BKW will be supplying eco power produced by ‘naturemade star’-certified Swiss hydro power plants to the House of Switzerland in Hotel Schweizerhof, the House of Fans in the finish area in Salastrains and its Home of Energy lounge throughout the World Ski Championships from 6 to 19 February 2017. BKW will also be supplying mobile transformer stations used to support power supply at the finish area and in Kulm Park. This is one of the focal points of the World Ski Championships, as the opening and closing ceremonies will be held there, along with awards ceremonies and drawings of the numbers for the athletes.

BKW will also provide its charging points for mobiles at various locations throughout the finish area and in the World Championship Village so that phones can be charged with renewable energy at any time, day or night. Ten Segways will be available so that members of the organising committee can move swiftly and easily between the various venues – thus BKW also brings e-mobility to St. Moritz.

As the official sponsor of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships St. Moritz 2017 presented by Audi, BKW will host an energy-efficient lounge to welcome spectators. Guests will find a varied offer, including BKW’s modular integrated solution, Home Energy. The product allows homeowners to make optimum use of solar energy from their own roofs. In St. Moritz it is being presented for the first time in the BKW Lounge. This allows prospective users to have a close look at this innovative solution for the future of energy.

On the piste, BKW is the lead sponsor of the current world champion in downhill skiing Patrick Küng and sponsor of the Swiss-Ski Association. BKW wishes all Swiss-Ski athletes a successful run in the championships, especially Patrick Küng as he defends the downhill title.
