Zusätzlicher Produktionsstandort in Mexiko

Autoneum erweitert seine lokale Präsenz in Mexiko mit dem Bau eines zusätzlichen Produktionsstandortes durch UGN. Das neue Werk in Silao wird voraussichtlich ab Ende des Jahres Bauteile für japanische Automobilhersteller produzieren.

Aufgrund der Mitgliedschaft im Nordamerikanischen Freihandelsabkommen (NAFTA) und der damit verbundenen Standortvorteile ist Mexiko für viele Automobilhersteller ein attraktiver Produktionsstandort. Um die japanischen Kunden bei ihrer Expansion in dieser Region optimal zu unterstützen, erweitert Autoneum gemeinsam mit dem japanischen Partner Nittoku mit dem Bau eines neuen UGN-Werkes in Silao, Mexiko, seine lokale Präsenz. Silao liegt rund 350 Kilometer nordwestlich von Mexiko-Stadt im Bundesstaat Guanajuato. Die Produktion von Akustik- und Wärmemanagement-Komponenten in der ca. 5‘600 Quadratmeter grossen Anlage soll gegen Ende des Jahres aufgenommen werden.

Autoneum ist in Mexiko bereits mit einem Werk in Hermosillo vertreten, das überwiegend US-amerikanische Hersteller beliefert. Mit dem Ausbau der lokalen Präsenz in Mexiko setzt Autoneum auch auf die wachsende Nachfrage der nordamerikanischen Automobilproduktion, die bis zum Jahr 2016 auf voraussichtlich 17 Millionen Fahrzeuge pro Jahr ansteigen wird.

    Additional manufacturing location in Mexico

    Autoneum is increasing its local presence in Mexico by building an additional facility through UGN. The new plant in Silao is expected to start production of parts for Japanese car manufacturers towards the end of the year.

    Thanks to its membership in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the associated advantages, Mexico has become an attractive production location for car manufacturers. To support the expansion initiatives of Japanese customers in this region, Autoneum is increasing its local presence together with its Japanese partner Nittoku by building a new UGN facility in Silao, Mexico. Silao is located in the state of Guanajuato about 220 miles (350 kilometers) northwest of Mexico City. Production of acoustic and thermal management components in the 60,000 square foot facility is slated to begin towards the end of the year

    Autoneum is already present in Mexico with a facility in Hermosillo, which mainly supplies parts to US car manufacturers. The expansion of Autoneum’s local presence in Mexico is an answer to the growing demand in the automotive industry with North American production expected to grow to 17 million vehicles per year by 2016.
