Turkey Adds More Restricted Substances to Market Surveillance for Footwear Products Freitag, 11. August 2017 - 08:54

Turkish Ministry of Economy has recently announced a new Customs control for footwear products that are subject to market surveillance. Chromium VI and Dioctyltin (DOT) have been added to the control list of Official Gazette 29236 in addition to Phthalates. The new control has been effective since July 10, 2017.

Turkey has recently added further restricted substances that are subject to market surveillance on all imported footwear products in addition to the current phthalates requirement. According to the update, effective on July 10, 2017, chromium VI and dioctyltin (DOT) are added to the restriction.

For Cr VI:

  • All accessible leather parts will be checked, regardless whether the part comes into contact with skin.
  • Limit: 3 mg/kg

For DOT:

  • Footwear or parts of footwear intended to come into contact with skin will be checked.
  • Limit: 0.1 %
