Bank Sarasin focuses on continuity in sustainable asset management
29.05.2013
Bank Sarasin is focusing on its strengths in sustainable asset management with some key appointments of experienced professionals in its Asset Management, Products & Sales division. Dr. Jan A. Poser takes charge of Asset Management and Sustainability Research, with immediate effect. Philipp E. Bärtschi is promoted to Chief Investment Officer, Private Clients, and will concentrate in future on the Bank's investment strategy and the management of private clients' assets. Daniel Graf takes over as Head, Institutional Clients, also with immediate effect. These internal appointments underscore Bank Sarasin’s extensive bench of accomplished professionals, and the Bank’s focus on continuing to provide its clients the highest quality client service and investment advice in sustainable asset management.
Dr. Poser has been with Bank Sarasin for 12 years. As Sarasin’s Head of Research and Chief Economist, he has played a key role in shaping the group’s investment processes over the past five years. He is one of Switzerland’s most prolific economists, and in this capacity has been advising leading institutional investors for many years. Dr. Poser’s appointment as Head of Asset Management and Sustainability Research is a key step in strengthening Bank Sarasin's core business: sustainable asset management for private and institutional clients.
Philipp Bärtschi has been with Bank Sarasin for seven years, working for the past five years in the role of Global Chief Strategist. In his new function as Chief Investment Officer, Private Clients he will remain Chairman of Bank Sarasin’s Investment Committee. The purpose of having just one investment committee for both private and institutional clients is to ensure close interaction between research and investment processes at Bank Sarasin. At the same time the Bank’s investment process will be tailored more effectively to the different requirements of the two client segments – private and institutional.
Daniel Graf assumes overall responsibility for the Institutional Clients business. He already has a successful track record in looking after Sarasin's institutional clients over the past years.
These internal appointments enable Bank Sarasin to ensure continuity not only in the area of investments, but in research and client service. The integration of Research into the Private Clients and Asset Management areas reinforces Bank Sarasin’s strategic direction both in private and institutional asset management. Long-term investment performance and top-class customer service continue to be the top priority.
| Dr. Burkhard P. Varnholt, Head Asset Management, Products & Sales "I am delighted that our long-serving Chief Economist and Head Research, Dr. Jan Poser, is assuming overall responsibility for our Asset Management activities in future. The appointment of Philipp Bärtschi as Chief Investment Officer Private Clients is also good news. In his role as Chief Strategist, he has played a key role in shaping the Bank’s investment process over the last five years. The appointment of Daniel Graf, who already has a very strong track record with institutional clients over the past years, also ensures continuity in customer service." |
