SGS has been appointment by the Ministry of Finance of Suriname for Pre-shipment inspection (PSI). Commencement date is 17/06/2013, date of International Trade Transaction (“IT”) Forms registration. Goods covered by IT Forms registered on or after June 17th, will require a CRF to clear the goods upon arrival. Good covered by IT Forms registered before 17th of June can be shipped without CRF until June 30th (date of BL)

The objectives of the service are as follows:

  • Quality and Quantity
  • Export Market Price
  • Determination of Value for Customs purposes based on Brussels Definition of Values
  • Customs classification (HS 2007 version)
  • Import eligibility
  • Risk Assessment
  • Other: Container’s sealing

Interventions and activities

  • Physical Inspection, as necessary and category of SGS intervention
  • Issuance of:
    • Confirmation of Satisfactory Documentary Verification and Exemption for goods excluded from the program
    • Clean Report of Findings for Successful completion of the physical inspection
    • Security Label (in case of payment through Letter of Credit)
