ZURICH, Switzerland – 10 June, 2013 – Myriad Group AG (SIX: MYRN), the company creating and connecting communities across TV and mobile, today announces that it will present Myriad Remote UI-HTML5, its market leading multi-screen solution at the NCTA Cable Show in Washington, D.C. 10th-12th June 2013.
At the NCTA Cable Show, Myriad will present and demonstrate both EPG and media controller applications using RUI-clients on an iPad, Android tablet and an RDK-based set-top box. Myriad’s RUI solution is designed to seamlessly integrate with industry standard video gateway-client architectures, enabling any adapted IP client to access the TV provider’s published services throughout the gateway.
The combination of HTML5 and Remote UI offers benefits to both TV viewers and TV providers. As a multi-screen solution it will enable TV providers to extend their services onto second screen devices in the home without the need for dedicated and expensive proprietary solutions on each of these devices as it is conveniently delivered from the home gateway or set-top box. For the consumer it provides a consistent user interface across all their devices including tablets, smart phones and laptops. Support for consumer end-point devices will include Apple iOS products iPhones and iPads, Android based products, and Microsoft Windows personal computers.
Edward Zylka, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Myriad’s Device Solutions Division, commented: “Myriad is focused on bringing our new RUI-HTML5 offering to the market now to help customers meet the upcoming FCC open systems mandate and the requirement for a complete CVP2 solution for consumer owned equipment interoperability. Our stated goal for CVP2 is to deliver video services reaching second screen end-point devices in the home network, in a secure manner and through a consistent user experience. The new RUI-HTML5 solution and CVP2 offerings are evolutionary product extensions to Myriad’s existing DLNA product line demonstrating Myriad’s ability to quickly innovate in the progressive consumer electronics market.”
