In this role, Mr. Wong will assume overall responsibility for the Bank’s Hong Kong and China research and sales efforts. In addition, he will assume the role of Regional Head of Oil & Gas Research with primary coverage responsibilities for China.

Mr. Wong will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Nicole Yuen, Head of Greater China Equities with additional reporting lines to Al Park, Head of Equities Sales, Asia Pacific and Ernest Fong, Head of Research, non-Japan Asia.

With Thomas’ experience and management responsibility across research and sales, we are confident that he will continue to deliver seamless and well-coordinated advisory efforts to our clients.”

Mr. Wong joins Credit Suisse from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was Head of Greater China Research since 2009 and was widely credited for re-building and leading its Greater China research franchise. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager with Och Ziff Capital Management and led regional Oil and Gas Research at UBS.

Mr. Wong is an acclaimed research analyst, having ranked among the Top 3 in Regional Oil and Gas research over the last four years in the Institutional Investor Survey, with a #1 ranking in 2008 and 2011.

The appointment of Mr. Wong underpins Credit Suisse continued commitment to invest in Greater China equities. In the 2013 Institutional Investor All-Asia Research Team ranking, Credit Suisse ranked among the Top 3 in both China and Hong Kong research. The poll solicited the opinion of more than 980 institutions managing an estimated US$1.61 trillion in non-Japanese Asian equities.
