Zurich, 12 July 2013 — Swiss Re Ltd notes recent media speculation and confirms that it is in preliminary discussions with Phoenix Group Holdings in relation to a possible combination of Phoenix Group Holdings and Swiss Re's Admin Re® Business Unit. There is no certainty that these discussions will lead to any transaction. Further statements will be made if and when appropriate.
