SGS Philippines, Inc. recently launched its Agricultural (AGRI) Services in the forum, “Farm to Market: Building Trust throughout the Supply Chain”, held at the SGS Academy, 3rd floor, 2229 Alegria Building, Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City. The forum is a joint effort of the SGS Agricultural Services and SGS Systems and Services Certification (SSC) divisions of SGS Philippines, Inc.

The Farm to Market AGRI forum was attended by officials from the Philippines’ Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) as well representatives from the industries of agriculture and food manufacturing. Discussions during the open forum focused on training for private sectors and the farming community, logistics and distribution of commodities, and the processes of inspection and certification. Among the topics highlighted during the presentations were analytical, inspection and pest control and fumigation services.

Rosario Cajucom-Bradbury, Managing Director of SGS Philippines, Inc. emphasized the global experience of SGS through diverse services at every point of the value and supply chain, particularly within the agriculture and food industry. She also explained the importance of practicing risk management and quality assurance among producers and manufacturers to contribute to ensuring food safety for consumers.

The other SGS presentors were: Antonio Jumawan, Agricultural Services Manager; Meden Peneyra, Central Laboratory Manager; and, Harold Ebora, Pest Control Manager.
