Altstaetten, October 29, 2019 – As of January 1, 2020, John Westermeier and Dr. Martin Schlüter will join COLTENE’s Group Management. SciCan CEO John Westermeier will be responsible for the sales and marketing organization of the COLTENE Group in North America. Dr. Martin Schlüter, Vice President Research & Development and Innovation, has assumed Group-wide responsibility for research and development. The other members of Group Management remain unchanged.

With the acquisition of SciCan and Micro-Mega, the North American market has become increasingly important for the COLTENE Group. The Board of Directors has therefore decided to establish a separate function for sales and marketing in this region. As of January 1, 2020, John Westermeier will be responsible for the sales and marketing organization in North America. Christophe Loretan, who was previously responsible for sales worldwide, will now focus on the European markets and the fast-growing region of East Asia with extended responsibility for marketing communication.

John Westermeier joined SciCan in 2007 as Director of New Product Sales. Since 2015, he has been CEO of the company, which became part of the COLTENE Group last year.

Dr. Martin Schlüter has been Director Research & Development of COLTENE in Switzerland and Germany since 2010 and Vice President Research & Development and Innovation since 2018. He is now responsible for R&D at COLTENE worldwide. Dr. Martin Schlüter succeeds Werner Mannschedel, the long-standing Head of Research and Development who will retire at the end of 2019.
