Baloise completes purchase of non-life insurance portfolio from Athora Belgium Dienstag, 02. Juni 2020 - 07:00

Basel, 2 June 2020. On 4 November 2019, the Baloise Group announced that it was buying Athora Belgium’s non-life insurance portfolio for EUR 60 million. This transaction was completed on 31 May 2020, after the necessary approvals were obtained from the relevant antitrust and supervisory authorities. The acquisition strengthens Baloise’s position in the Wallonia region and is the ideal complement to Baloise Belgium’s presence in the Flanders region.

The Baloise Group completed the purchase of Athora Belgium’s non-life insurance portfolio on 31 May 2020. As part of the transaction, Baloise is taking on around 150 employees and more than 360,000 insurance policies from Athora in Belgium. Now that the transaction has been completed, Athora’s business will start to be integrated into Baloise Insurance in Belgium.
