Key figures first half-year 2020

• Sales increased by 3% to approximately CHF 182 million
• EBITDA margin in H1/2020 increased from 4.8% to around 10.3%
• Net income of roughly CHF 6.5 million, after a net loss of CHF –3.1 million in H1/2019

Comet Group today announces the preliminary, unaudited key figures for the first half-year of 2020. Sales increased by 3% to approximately CHF 182 million compared to the previous year (H1/2019: CHF 177.0 million). While the semiconductor industry was basically unaffected by Covid-19, the X-ray market has suffered a decline in orders due to a lack of demand from the automotive, aerospace and security sectors.

In line with higher sales, the EBITDA margin increased to roughly 10.3%, compared to 4.8% in the same period of the previous year. A favorable product mix and the cost-cutting measures already initiated in the course of 2019 led to this increase. From the improved operating result, Comet Group achieved a net profit of around CHF 6.5 million, after a net loss of CHF –3.1 million in the same period last year.

The company will publish the detailed results for the first half-year of 2020 and an outlook for the remaining months of fiscal year 2020 on August 13, 2020.
