u-blox: White Paper: 5G NR RedCap for IoT applications Dienstag, 14. Februar 2023 - 18:03

Dear Armando,

We recently released a new white paper overviewing 5G RedCap capabilities, differences with other use cases for 5G specifications, and its importance for IoT applications.

We explain how 5G RedCap fits into the current use cases landscape and which markets could benefit from it, like wearables and smart factory IoT applications. Furthermore, we also consider the coming set of 3GPP specifications and how 5G RedCap will evolve with them.

Key highlights:
  • The cornerstones of 5G New Radio: eMBB, uRLLC, and mMTC
  • A new 5G specification for IoT and its scope
  • 5G NR RedCap instead of LTE for IoT applications
  • How does 5G NR RedCap fit in with other 5G use cases for the IoT?
