Wetzikon, 27. Januar 2014 − Die Elma Gruppe erwirtschaftete im Geschäftsjahr 2013 einen Gesamtumsatz von CHF 113.0 Mio. Dies entspricht einer Steigerung von 1.7% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Währungsbereinigt stieg der Umsatz um 2.0%. Dabei zeigten insbesondere die Regionen Americas und Asia eine solide Leistung; beide konnten in einem weiterhin schwierigen wirtschaftlichen Umfeld ihre Umsätze in Lokalwährung steigern, während der Umsatz in der Region Europe leicht rückläufig war. Erfreulich entwickelte sich der Bestellungseingang der Elma Gruppe, welcher insgesamt um 9.0% auf CHF 120.7 Mio. zulegte; währungsbereinigt betrug der Anstieg 9.3%.

Der Umsatz mit Dritten hielt sich in der Region Americas auf dem Vorjahresniveau (-0.1%); er stieg jedoch währungsbereinigt um 0.9% auf USD 62.0 Mio. an. Die Region Europe verzeichnete einen Umsatzrückgang von 2.8% auf CHF 46.2 Mio.; währungsbereinigt lag der Rückgang bei 3.5%. In der Region Asia wuchs der Umsatz um 52.1% auf CHF 9.5 Mio.; währungsbereinigt entspricht dies einer Steigerung von 53.6%.

Die verstärkte Marktbearbeitung in allen Regionen zeigte erste positive Ergebnisse, indem in allen drei Regionen ein deutlich höherer Bestelleinungseingang verzeichnet werden konnte. In der Region Americas stiegen die Bestellungen um 4.3% gegenüber dem Vorjahr; währungsbereinigt legten sie um 5.3% zu. In der Region Europe wurde eine Steigerung von 5.3% erzielt; währungsbereinigt lag das Plus bei 4.5%. Die Region Asia legte im Berichtsjahr am stärksten zu: gegenüber dem Vorjahr wurde ein Anstieg von 82.2% auf CHF 11.1 Mio. erreicht; währungsbereinigt erhöhte sich der Bestellungseingang um 84.1%.

Aufgrund des weiterhin schwierigen Umfelds hat Elma grosse Anstrengungen unternommen, um die Profitabilität gegenüber dem ersten Halbjahr 2013 zu verbessern. Durch die eingeleiteten operativen Massnahmen konnte die EBIT Marge im zweiten Halbjahr 2013 gegenüber der ersten Jahreshälfte 2013 gesteigert werden.

Wetzikon, January 27, 2014 − In the business year 2013, the Elma Group achieved a total revenue of CHF 113.0 million. This represents an increase of 1.7% compared to the previous year. Adjusted for currency translation effects, revenue rose by 2.0%. In particular the Americas and Asia regions showed a solid performance. Despite the difficult economic environment, both regions increased their revenues in local currency, while revenue declined slightly in the Europe region. The order income of the Elma Group developed encouraging and rose overall by 9.0% to CHF 120.7 million; adjusted for currency translation effects the increase was 9.3%.

Revenue third parties in the Americas region remained at the previous year’s level (-0.1%); adjusted for currency translation effects it increased by 0.9% to USD 62.0 million. The Europe region posted a decline in revenue by 2.8% to CHF 46.2 million; adjusted for currency translation effects sales decreased by 3.5%. In the Asia region, revenue grew by 52.1% to CHF 9.5 million; adjusted for currency translation effects, sales were up 53.6%.

The intensified market activities in all regions showed first positive results as all three regions were able to record a significantly higher order income. In the Americas region order income increased by 4.3% compared to the previous year; adjusted for currency translation effects orders were up 5.3%. The Europe region posted an increase of 5.3%; adjusted for currency translation effects it improved by 4.5%. The Asia region rose in the reporting year the most: compared to the previous year they achieved an increase by 82.2% to CHF 11.1 million; adjusted for currency translation effects, orders were up 84.1%.

Due to the difficult economic environment, Elma has made great efforts to improve the profitability compared to the first half year. Due to the initiated operational measures, the EBIT margin was improved in the second half year of 2013 compared to the first half of 2013.
