Zurich, Switzerland, April 23, 2014 – DKSH’s Business Unit Performance Materials, a leading specialty chemicals distributor, has appointed Dr. Richard Martorano as Global Technical Manager Paints & Coatings Business Line Specialty Chemicals Industry (SCI), with a special focus on the South East Asian market. Richard spent 41 years in research and customer services with Rohm & Haas, his last position was Asia Pacific Regional Technical Manager for Construction & Industrial Coatings. During the last 10 years he was with Connell Bros. as Regional Technical Sales Manager for Coatings, Construction, Graphic Arts, Adhesives & Sealants. Paints and coatings is a fast growing business area within the DKSH specialty chemical distribution unit. The Swiss-based company is committed to further strengthen its organization in Asia, Europe, and North America. “The decision to invest in a Global Technical Manager Paints & Coatings, is an important milestone and will allow DKSH to provide research and development support, formulation services and new product applications ideas to local customers,” said Natale Capri, Co-Head Business Unit Performance Materials, DKSH. This technical function is supported by four state-of-the-art coatings laboratories in South East Asia, with expertise in coatings, adhesives, construction chemicals and graphic arts. In his new role as Global Technical Manager Paints & Coatings, he supports the DKSH sales offices, coordinates the activities of the four Performance Materials coatings laboratories, and supports all technical activities for the coatings, adhesives, construction chemicals and graphic arts in the region, including on-the-ground formulation assistance for our customers.
