In May 2026, 3,028,701 passengers passed through Zurich Airport, corresponding to an increase of 9.1% compared to last year.
In May, the number of local passengers was 2,222,403. Transfer passengers amounted to 26.5%, equal to 801,998 passengers.
Year on year, air traffic movements increased by 5.1% to 25,318 take-offs and landings. The average number of passengers per movement increased to 134.3 (+3.4% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor was 79.7% (+2.8 percentage points vs. previous year).
A total of 37,369 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport during the month of May. This represents an increase of 1.2% in freight volume compared to last year.
