Start of commercial operations at Noida International Airport

Commercial operations at Noida International Airport (IATA: DXN) have commenced today, with the first flight operated by IndiGo from Lucknow. The start of scheduled passenger services represents an important step in establishing a new aviation gateway for the Delhi NCR and North India. A gradual ramp-up of operations is expected over the coming months, with additional airlines to commence services in due course.

Challenging geopolitical environment

Since March 2026, the global aviation market has been characterized by increased geopolitical uncertainty due to the conflict in the Middle East. Airspace closures, elevated fuel costs and capacity adjustments have resulted in a more volatile operating environment for Indian airlines. This also affects the ramp-up of newly launched airport operations and the pace at which new routes and frequencies are introduced.

Outlook

Zurich Airport Ltd. continues to closely monitor the ramp-up of operations at Noida International Airport, as well as geopolitical and Indian dynamics. The company remains confident in the mid- and long-term potential of the Indian aviation market and the strategic relevance of Noida International Airport, while short-term developments remain subject to elevated uncertainty. At the same time, the overall financial guidance at Group level (as communicated in early March this year) remains unchanged. Zurich Airport Ltd. expects to provide the market with an update on the ramp-up and more detailed guidance for Noida as part of its half-year results 2026 on 28 August 2026.
