Traffic Figures
2,131,030 passengers were handled at Zurich Airport during April 2014, a gain of 2.0% versus previous year.
O&D or local passengers (originating or departing from Zurich) increased by 2.5% to 1,487,772 compared to previous April. Transfer passengers increased by 0.6% to 636,698 in April. The transfer rate which was at 30.3% last April is currently at 29.9%.
Air traffic movements (ATM’s) decreased by 2.6% to 21,222 in April versus previous year. The decrease divides into a decrease of 2.6% for airlines and 2.1% for general aviation.
The average passenger per movement figure (airline passengers only) currently is at 114.9 (109.7 previous year). The average seat load factor saw an increase of 2.2 percentage points to 78.5%.
Commercial Activities
Total turnover (net sales to consumers) during April was CHF 45.2m (+3.0% versus previous year). Turnover per departing passenger in April was CHF 42.4, which is 1.0% higher than last year. Year to date April, total turnover saw a decrease of 0.3% to CHF 164.3m and turnover per departing passenger decreased by 0.1% to CHF 44.2. |
