MONTANA AEROSPACE LEVERAGES ITS HIGHLY INTEGRATED ROMANIAN PRODUCTION FOOTPRINT TO DRIVE THE NEXT PHASE OF GROWTH Mittwoch, 07. Oktober 2026 - 08:00

The investor and analyst site visit showcases a unique one-stop shop in Europe where strategic investments are leading to new business and increased production.

Montana Aerospace AG, a leading manufacturer of system components and complex assemblies for the commercial aerospace, defense, and space industries, is leveraging its Romanian operations as a strategic cornerstone of its industrial footprint. This supports profitable growth, enhanced competitiveness, and long-term customer partnerships. The highly integrated production network of its Universal Alloy Corporation Europe (UAC Europe) division in Romania has become a key part of the Group’s growth strategy, with strategic investments resulting in an increasing number of new orders, additional industrialized programs, and higher production volumes.

On 6 October 2026, Montana Aerospace gave investors and analysts a first-hand look at this development. During a visit to the Dumbrăvița and Baia Mare sites in Romania, participants observed the entire production process of an aerospace component within a single network, from melting and casting to final assembly.

A unique one-stop shop in Europe

With a total production area of around 160,000 m², UAC Europe covers every step of the value chain for aerospace structural components, including melting and casting, extrusion, machining and metal forming, surface treatment, and assembly. This exceptional manufacturing depth results in short, resilient supply chains and a high degree of control over quality, costs and lead times. Customers receive complex components and assemblies from a single source. Combined with a competitive cost base, this makes the Romanian site a highly integrated, unique one-stop shop in Europe and a strategic asset for Montana Aerospace and its customers.

Targeted investments form the foundation

Since its IPO in 2021, Montana Aerospace has invested substantially in state-of-the-art production equipment and technologies in Romania. Three recent key investments totaling approximately EUR 90 million are now coming fully online, with the finalization of remaining qualifications and customer approvals underway: a new casthouse, a third heavy extrusion press and a titanium extrusion press.

The in-house casthouse enables the production of customer-specific alloys and the recycling of scrap, giving the Company control over the entire production process. This strengthens resilience against developments in the raw materials market by combining flexibility and security of supply with clear ESG advantages. The third heavy press significantly increases capacity for large, highly complex extruded profiles for fuselage and wing structures. Meanwhile, the titanium extrusion press further deepens the Company’s vertical integration of a material that is becoming increasingly important in modern aircraft programs.

The Company has also made investments to reduce its energy supply risk. Three solar installations at the Romanian sites of Dumbrăvița, Baia Mare and Satu Mare generate over 21,000 MWh of electricity per year, expected to cover a significant portion of UAC Europe’s demand. These installations will save almost 17,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year, thereby enhancing resilience, cost stability and sustainability.

Growth trajectory confirmed

Looking ahead, Montana Aerospace remains confident in its growth trajectory and reconfirms its guidance for 2026 and 2027. For 2026, the Company expects net sales to exceed EUR 1.0 billion, adjusted EBITDA to exceed EUR 185 million, and cash conversion to be around 50%. For 2027, the Company expects net sales to exceed EUR 1.1 billion, adjusted EBITDA to exceed EUR 210 million, and cash conversion to exceed 50%.

However, the Company believes that its guidance for 2027 does not yet fully reflect the potential arising from additional opportunities in defense and space. It therefore intends to provide an updated outlook for 2027 as visibility continues to improve.

Following several years of substantial strategic investment, Montana Aerospace expects to invest approximately EUR 30–40 million per annum in 2026 and 2027, primarily to support capacity expansion across its commercial aerospace, defense, and space activities. These investments are focused on capturing attractive growth opportunities, supporting customer demand, and further strengthening the Group’s competitive positioning. At the same time, the Company expects an increasing proportion of operating cash flow to translate into free cash flow, reflecting the maturing industrial footprint and improving operating leverage.

Investments pay off

Paul Andreucci, Chief Commercial Officer of Montana Aerospace: “Over the past years we have consistently invested in capacity, technology and vertical integration in Romania. With the casthouse, the third heavy press and titanium extrusion now moving into full production, we can offer our customers a complete value chain from the alloy to the finished assembly. That is a decisive competitive advantage in a market where supply security and delivery performance matter more than ever.”

This concept has proven itself in the market. UAC Europe has recently won numerous new customer orders and successfully industrialized new programs, with production volumes continuing to rise. Alongside commercial aerospace, activities in the space segment are growing, with production volumes set to increase further.

Brian Weed, CEO of UAC Europe: “Our customers value having one partner for the entire process chain. Investments in Romania are strengthening that advantage, helping us win new programs and increase production to support our customers’ growth.”

Romania is a proof point of the Group’s strategy

During the site visit, investors and analysts experienced the highly integrated production network first-hand by following the value chain from melting and casting to extrusion, machining, metal forming, surface treatment, and final assembly. Alongside UAC Europe’s operational and commercial management, participants gained an understanding of how investments in recent years have strengthened vertical integration, expanded capabilities, and established a foundation for future growth. For Montana Aerospace, Romania exemplifies the Group’s strategy of vertical integration, cost-effective manufacturing and profitable growth.
