Kaba beteiligte sich 2007 mit 49% an einem Joint Venture mit der Dorsët Gruppe. Durch den Erwerb von weiteren 25% der Aktien hält Kaba nun eine Beteiligung von 74%. Im Rahmen dieser Transaktion wird Dorsët Kaba von der Dorsët Gruppe die Firmen Mars Industries Pvt Ltd., Dorsët India Pvt Ltd. und Modtech Industries übernehmen. Dies gibt Kaba Zugang zu drei Produktionsstätten und vier Regionalniederlassungen in Indien, welche ein grosses Distributionsnetzwerk bedienen. Dieser direkte Zugang zum vielversprechenden indischen Wachstumsmarkt wird die Umsätze ankurbeln. Dorsët Kaba beschäftigt knapp 1000 Mitarbeitende und erzielt einen Jahresumsatz von CHF 22 Millionen. Über den Kaufpreis wurde Stillschweigen vereinbart. Die Transaktion ist unterzeichnet und wird voraussichtlich im Juli vollzogen.

Etabliertes Produktportfolio

Das Dorsët Kaba Joint Venture agiert in zwei Produktbereichen im indischen Markt – Builder Hardware und Security Systems. Im Bereich Builder Hardware sind Schlösser, Einsteckschlösser, Türgriffe wie auch Türschliesser die Hauptprodukte. Bei den Security Systems bietet das Joint Venture vor allem Hochsicherheitszylinder, physische Zugangssysteme und Drehsperren an. Mit der Übernahme der Firmen Mars Industries Pvt Ltd., Dorsët India Pvt Ltd. und Modtech Industries ist das Joint Venture in der Lage Produkte speziell für den indischen Markt zu entwickeln und herzustellen. Dank dem bewährten Produktportfolio kann Dorsët Kaba namhafte Kunden wie die Hyatt Gruppe, Taj Hotels, Max Healthcare, DLF und EMMAR MGF ausweisen. 

Indiens grosses Marktpotenzial

Dorsët Kaba wird in Zukunft in Indien ihre Aktivitäten weiter ausbauen und neue Produktlinien lancieren als auch ihre Aktivitäten in den Bereichen Hospitality und Physical Access Systems verstärken. Majority stake in Dorsët Kaba joint venture: Kaba increases its investment in India

  • Transaction includes the acquisition of additional businesses of Dorsët Group

  • Established distribution network in India with more than 1,800 partners

Kaba took a 49% stake in a joint venture with Dorsët Group in 2007. By acquiring another 25% of the shares, Kaba is now increasing its stake in the joint venture to 74%. As part of the transaction, Dorsët Kaba will take over from Dorsët Group the businesses of Mars Industries Pvt Ltd., Dorsët India Pvt Ltd. and Modtech Industries. This gives Kaba three production sites and four regional offices in India serving a broad distribution network. This direct access to the Indian market will boost sales in this promising growing market. Dorsët Kaba employs around 1,000 people and achieves annual sales of CHF 22 million. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Agreements have been signed and closing is expected in July.

Established product portfolio

The Dorsët Kaba joint venture operates in two product areas in the Indian market – builder hardware and security systems. In the builder hardware section the main products are lock sets, mortise locks, lever handles as well as door closers. In the security systems sections the joint venture sells high-security cylinders, physical access systems and tripod barriers. With the takeover of the businesses of Mars Industries Pvt Ltd., Dorsët India Pvt Ltd. and Modtech Industries the joint venture is able to develop and produce products tailored to the requirements of the Indian Market. Thanks to its tried-and-tested product portfolio, Dorsët Kaba's clients include such important customers as Hyatt Group, Taj Hotels, Max Healthcare, DLF and EMMAR MGF.

India's large potential market

In future, Dorsët Kaba will continue to expand and will introduce new product lines in India as well as increase its activities in the hospitality and physical access systems business.
