Verbesserungen im 2. Halbjahr erwartet
Arbon, 21. Juli 2014 – Die Umsätze und Erträge der AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG haben sich im 1. Halbjahr 2014 unter den Erwartungen entwickelt. Während der Nettoumsatz währungs-, devestitions- und akquisitionsbereinigt gegenüber dem Vorjahr leicht um 0.4 % auf CHF 447.0 Mio. abnahm, fiel das EBIT der fortzuführenden Geschäftsbereiche auf CHF 5.8 Mio. (Vorjahr CHF 18.4 Mio.). Als Folge der unbefriedigenden Umsatzentwicklung und der in allen Divisionen stark unter Druck stehenden Margen sowie von Sonderaufwendungen im Zusammenhang mit den laufenden bzw. abgeschlossenen Devestitionen und Akquisitionen schliesst das 1. Halbjahr der fortzuführenden Geschäftsbereiche mit einem Nettoverlust von CHF -2.6 Mio. (Vorjahr CHF 2.9 Mio.). Aufgrund der eingeleiteten Massnahmen wird für das zweite Halbjahr eine Umsatz-steigerung erwartet. Hingegen wird das EBIT 2014 der fortgeführten Geschäftsbereiche das vergleichbare EBIT des Vorjahres voraussichtlich nicht erreichen.

Améliorations attendues au second semestre
Arbon, le 21 juillet 2014 – Le chiffre d’affaires et le bénéfice d’AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG n’ont pas été à la hauteur des espérances au 1er semestre 2014. Le chiffre d’affaires net corrigé des taux de change, des désinvestissements et des acquisitions a légèrement reculé depuis l’exercice précédent (-0,4%) à CHF 447,0 mio. L’EBIT des divisions conservées s’établit pour sa part à CHF 5,8 mio (exercice précédent: CHF 18,4 mio). En raison de l’évolution insuffisante du chiffre d’affaires, de la forte réduction des marges dans toutes les divisions et des charges ex-ceptionnelles liées aux désinvestissements et acquisitions en cours ou achevés, les divisions maintenues terminent le 1er semestre sur une perte nette de CHF -2,6 mio (exercice précédent: CHF 2,9 mio). Suite aux mesures prises, une hausse du chiffre d’affaires est attendue au 2e se-mestre. Selon toutes prévisions, l’EBIT 2014 des divisions conservées n’atteindra pas le même EBIT que celui de l’exercice précédent.

UNSATISFACTORY HALF-YEAR RESULTS REPORTED BY AFG ARBONIA-FORSTER-HOLDING AG
Improvements anticipated in the second half of the year
Arbon, 21 July 2014 – the revenue and income generated by AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG fell short of expectations in the first half of 2014. While net revenue taking currency, divestment and acquisition adjustments into account declined marginally vis-à-vis the previous year by 0.4 % to CHF 447.0 million, the EBIT of the continuing operations fell to CHF 5.8 million (previous year: CHF 18.4 million). As a consequence of the unsatisfactory development in revenue and the margins in all divisions that were under severe pressure as well as the special expenses incurred in connection with both the ongoing and completed divestments and acquisitions, the first half-year of the continuing operations ended with a net loss of CHF -2.6 million (previous year: CHF 2.9 million). Due to the measures initiated an increase in revenue is anticipated for the second half-year. However, the 2014 EBIT from continuing operation is likely to fall short of the comparable, prior-year EBIT.
