Nestlé announces its three 2014 Nestlé Creating Shared Value Prize finalists

After carefully assessing 759 entries from around the world, we are pleased to announce the three finalists shortlisted to win the 2014 Nestlé Creating Shared Value Prize. Each finalist will win a share of the CHF 500 000 prize money - here's how they plan to use the investment:

Honey Care Africa, an East African company, plans use the prize money to help 35 000 farmers in impoverished South Sudan become commercial beekeepers by 2017, allowing them to generate additional income through honey production. http://honeycareafrica.com

For MSABI, a Tanzanian not-for-profit organisation, the prize money will help them provide access to safe water for about 40 000 people over two years by scaling up its sanitation and hygiene programmes and improving service provision and water point sustainability. http://msabi.org

Sanergy, a Kenyan social enterprise, will put the prize money towards its work to make affordable and hygienic sanitation accessible in more low income urban areas throughout Africa, reaching more than 500 000 residents and creating 1 500 new jobs across the continent over the next five years. http://saner.gy
