ASCOM WINS STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT PROJECT IN SWEDEN Dienstag, 28. Oktober 2014 - 17:33

The Swedish National Courts Administration is switching to an IP-DECT platform of Ascom. 6,700 employees will obtain a new system for telephony, alarms, and messaging, increasing safety and responsiveness.

The Swedish system integrator Cygate and the Swedish National Courts Administration have chosen Ascom as the supplier of an IP-DECT platform for the new central switchboard to be set-up in Jönköping, where the management authority has its head office.

This is a part of a comprehensive project under the lead of Cygate as system integrator, whereby all Swedish courts and related activities consolidate their local telephone switchboards to a central unit in Jönköping. Customer is the National Courts Administration, a state authority which is under government leadership and works as a service organization for the country's courts.

Ascom's platform enables transmission of messages and alarms from security personnel and the Courts Administration’s employees. In an emergency case, a security guard can, for example, silently call for back-up via an alarm routed directly to co-workers' IP-DECT telephones. The system also supports positioning, which strengthens personal security even further in the case of an evacuation alarm. The alarm functions of the Ascom solution work locally and even if the contact with the central switchboard is interrupted.
